Councilman Tom Nagel

Councilman Nagel was appointed to fill an unexpired term on City Council in December 2009.  He previously served two elected terms as Mayor and a prior elected term as Councilman.

 

In addition, he serves the city as a citizen volunteer on the Fairborn Police Advisory board and also serves the greater Miami Valley region as an elected trustee on the Sinclair Community College Foundation Board of Trustees.  He also serves as a member of the Foundations Finance committee.

 

Councilman Nagel is a retired Lt. Colonel of the United States Air Force, as well as a retired insurance and investment businessman.  Councilman Nagel is a graduate of Sinclair Community College, A.S., University of Toledo, B.S., M.B.A., with honors; Air War College, Professional Military Comptroller School, and the Ohio Municipal League Leadership Training Academy. Councilman Nagel is also a graduate of the Fairborn Citizens Police Academy and has served as a member of the Sinclair Community College President’s Focus Group.

Councilman Nagel has been a Fairborn resident since 1985.  Tom and his wife, Sharon, have five children (one deceased) and 10 grandchildren.  Tom enjoys golf, tennis, flying and travel.  He is a licensed private pilot and holds a multi-line insurance license.
