Streetscape Updates

8/23/12

Beginning Monday, 8/27, all of Main Street from Broad Street to Pleasant will be closed for milling except for the south side of Main between Grand and Pleasant, which will be open for two-way traffic. On Tuesday, 8/28, the north side of Main from Grand to Pleasant will be closed for milling and the south side of Main in the same area will be open to two-way traffic. Main from Grand to Broad Street will be closed to complete Milling. On Wednesday, 8/29, paving will begin on Main at Broad to Grand with Main Street being totally closed in this area.

8/9/12

Concrete is in the process of replacement in Main Street medians and on Central Avenue. Items being installed include: cabinets, conduit, electrical fuse kits, receptacles, and wires.

7/25/12

Work in progress includes finishing concrete tree pits from Central to Wright and placing cabinet foundations and installing conduit for electric.

Concrete work continues from Wright to Broad, with curb seheduled for placement on Friday, July 27.

7/16/12

Brick paver installation continues between Central and Pleasant on the morth side. Curb work from Central to Wright is being done followed by concrete work on the north side of Main. Curb placement from Central to Grand. LJDeweese is currently four days ahead of schedule.

Businesses affected this week include: Genunine Auto Parts, CNI Communications Group, the Actor's Theater, Galaxy Gifts, Foy's Kids Costumes, the Greene County Libarary, US Bank, and Tickets.

 

6/26/12

LJ Deweese is finishing up installation of concrete from Central Avenue to Pleasant. Pavers and tree grates are scheduled for delivery this week. Installation of electrical pull boxes and conduit work is in progress. The irrigation system has been bored, and backflow prevention details for installation are being worked. Upcoming work includes: concrete curb and sidewalk work from Pleasant to Central on the north side, brick pavers being installed on the south side of Main Street, and installing electrical pull boxes and conduit ahead of concrete work.

 

6/18/12

Storm sewer work is nearly completed, sidewalk and curb replacement continues, new tree wells continue, curb bump-outs on the south side of Main are completed, brick pavers are scheduled to begin next week and electric work continues.

 

6/7/12

Curb bump outs along Main, from Grand to Central are being installed. Concrete piece work is also being completed in the first quadrant. Storm sewer will be installed next week from Central to Pleasant on both sides of the road.

 

5/23/12

This week, LJ DeWeese will continue placing concrete curb and sidewalk between the intersections from Second Street to Grand Avenue along with preliminary work for installation of watering stations. Bright Street continues to trench for electric between Second Street and Central Avenue as well as trenching for electrical conduit located in grass islands on Central Avenue.

 

5/14/12

The contractors are within a day or two of completing sewer work on Main Street from Central Avenue down to Broad Street on the south side. They will begin concrete work in the intersection this week. This should take approximately 1 - 2 weeks for completion.

 

4/30/12

The storm sewer has been installed from 2nd Street to Wright Avenue. LJ DeWeese is now working from Wright Avenue to Central Avenue. This will take approximately the next two weeks. Sidewalks remain open. Roadways will not be shut down unless absolutely necessary. Signs are located at both ends of the project letting anyone know there is construction. Cones are lining the construction and flaggers are used when needed.
