Revitalization

In late spring 2010, led by a 30-member citizen steering committee, residents and stakeholders of the City of Fairborn began meeting regularly at the Nutter Center to create a plan for 'Moving Fairborn Forward'.   This plan would capitalize on what is best about Fairborn, address challenges that are identified, and position Fairborn to be the city of choice for residents, businesses and visitors. Community assets that need to be enhanced, expanded and capitalized were identified: WPAFB, WSU, Calamityville, Business, Downtown, Destination Fairborn, and Location.  The infrastructure that supports economic development, enhances quality of life and establishes Fairborn as a vibrant, attractive, sustainable environment to live, work and play were identified as goals.  These goals were broken down into 'buckets' for discussion.
