The Future is Bright in Fairborn
Centrally located from downtown Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Fairborn is the ideal location in the Miami Valley. Our community is home to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, one of the largest Air Force bases in the world. Fairborn is also the home of Wright State University, which serves approximately 17,000 students with programs leading to more than 100 undergraduate and nearly 50 Ph.D., graduate and professional degrees. Wright State’s 11,000-seat Ervin J. Nutter Center is the region’s entertainment leader, offering a variety of diversions ranging from Raider’s basketball to the nation’s top entertainers. All of this ensures that residents can enjoy a vast regional array of cultural and entertainment activities, such as theater, professional sports, museums, restaurants and nightlife.
Fairborn unites local and regional resources to facilitate and encourage development in defense, information technology, retail, wholesale, and residential services. Our pro-business city government, along with the Fairborn Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Fairborn Betterment Association, eagerly contributes to the success of businesses and provides the support to help them succeed. Furthermore, with four interchanges on I-675, Fairborn is the center of growth for the Dayton region now and for years to come.
From the historical to the latest in new home designs, our community also offers numerous neighborhoods with a wide variety of housing choices. Additionally, Fairborn offers approximately 686 acres of parks, nature preserves, and wetland reserves providing hours of hiking, biking, picnicking, fishing, and exploring opportunities.
Nowhere is learning more available or affordable than in Fairborn. Education is viewed as more than just a community necessity; it’s the thread that binds the community together. Fairborn schools offer students an array of opportunities to encourage excellence in education and athletics. The Greene County Career Center offers high-tech vocational opportunities for high school juniors and seniors, as well as adults of all ages. Fairborn also promotes partnerships between education, business and civic groups, and local universities to encourage lifelong learning among all our citizens.
Fairborn is a diverse, full-service community targeting the future. Our ability to look toward the future, yet preserve the best aspects of our past, distinguishes Fairborn from other communities. Discover for yourself why Fairborn is a great place to live, work, and play.
