One of four access channels in Fairborn
FGTV-5 is one of four access channels provided by Time/Warner Cable. The other access channels are Public channel 23 and Educational channels 6 (FCS) and 21 (WSU). Government Access TV-5 is your direct link to the city without leaving the comfort of your living room.
FTV-5 runs gavel to gavel meeting coverages of City Council and the Planning Board. Fairborn City Council Meetings are cablecast live on the first and third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
It also creates limited local productions such as Fairborn in Five. It also carries other state and federal programs as time permits.
Fairborn in Five:
Fairborn in Five is a series of short videos covering several City Departments and Divisions. These videos can be not only seen on Channel 5 but also on You Tube and even right here on our website.
Fourth of July Parade Coverage:
Fairborn Government Access Channel 5 provides coverage of Fairborn's Fourth of July Parade. The parade is replayed daily throughout July and even has weekly replays in January (just to remember those warmer days). Parade hosts Lew and Diana Lewis provide the commentary and camera work is done by a volunteer crew.
Messages on Channel 5:
Channel 5 carries a "video bulletin board" of messages between programming. Messages are related to City Government. For questions about a message or to place a message on channel 5 please contact Katie Lewallen in the City Manager's Office. To place a Public Access message contact Time Warner Cable at 937-396-8355.
Programming on Channel 5:
Fairborn Government Access Channel 5 runs meeting replays daily. Much of it's original programming has been suspended for budget reasons. Hopefully shows such as Community Spotlight, My Hometown, Our Fairborn Heritage, Safety First and other original productions will return in the future. Channel 5 continues to run Federal and State produced government programming on topics such as Finer with Age, Wild Ohio!, Today's Air Force, Army Newswatch, DVids: In the Fight, Road to Recovery, National Gallery of Art Presents . . ., and other special programs.
