The City of Fairborn has initiated the replacing of approximately 13,500 meter interface units (MIUs) for commercial and residential water meter accounts. The City has partnered with NECO to replace the units. Letters have been sent to notify residents of the program. There is no charge for this upgrade.
MIUs work with the water meter to transmit the meter reading to the billing office. With most MIUs in the city nearing the end of their life span, this upgrade will make meter reading more efficient and by the end of the program installation, will offer residents online up-to-date information on their accounts.
Residents who have not yet had a replacement can schedule it online at their convenience by going to NECO Water.
