As a way for the citizens of Fairborn to voice their opinions and ask questions in a less formal setting than a City Council meeting, the City Council began what is known as the Fairborn Citizen's forums in January 2014. These forums allow for residents to be heard as well as learn about the latest programs or activities in the City.
Citizen Forum topics have ranged from addressing homelessness issues to concerns about feral cats, from problems associated with traffic concerns to Fairborn's economic growth. At several of these forums, guest speakers have provided information on different topics.
Citizen Forum locations vary each month to allow citizens an opportunity to visit different facilities within the community. These locations have included restaurants, the Fairborn Senior Citizens Center, the Fairborn Senior Housing complex, Fairborn High School, American Legion Post No. 526, and a variety of Fairborn churches.
All Fairborn citizens are invited to attend the forums, which occur the fourth Monday of each month.
